Speaker 1:

Hi everyone, this is Shelly G and Vicki Z, and we are Two Old Bats in the Belfry.

Speaker 2:

Hi listeners. This is Shelly G and Vicki Z, and we're back. We're like a bad penny always turning up, or we're like shit.

Speaker 1:

We're all over the place.

Speaker 2:

We have been away since the holidays because Vicki and I have been busy getting our faces ready for radio. We have the perfect faces for radio, but we are back raunchier and sexier and crazier than ever. Just saying a quick hi and sexier and crazier than ever. Just saying a quick hi. We know we're past the holiday season, but we thought we would just do a little blurb on the holidays.

Speaker 1:

Vicki, how were your holidays this year, honey, the holidays this year for me were probably the best holidays I've ever had. Oh, I'm glad to hear that. Because, I was happy through the whole thing. What the hell happened. Well, I think you to hear that, because I was happy through the whole thing. What the hell happened? Well, I think you happened and my fucked up family.

Speaker 1:

And your fucked up family, which is more or less not as fucked up as my family, that's for sure. But no, it was just a wonderful experience and absolutely being with the most wonderful, wonderful loving and giving people. Well, we are fun.

Speaker 2:

We are fun because we are crazy and fortunately everybody came in for the holidays this year and it really. It was so great to spend the time with these people. It makes a difference?

Speaker 1:

Oh, it does. It really makes a difference to be with family that you love over this time period, and it was the best um, of course we overate uh-huh because you know, in my house you, there's no lack of food or drink, never ever my brother-in-law says, jeff says all the time, he says are you feeding the whole block?

Speaker 1:

Because you know what happens in the house. But that's what we do, that's what our people do we do, and it's like oh, there was a war, we won, let's eat. You know that kind of Well, you know it's funny.

Speaker 2:

Every year since I can remember it has to be over 50 years I always made the resolution, january one. That was it. I was eating healthy, I wasn't eating this, I wasn't eating that right. This year, you and I did not have to do that. No, we didn't, because we had already done that.

Speaker 1:

We had already done that and um, yes, we both had a very significant weight loss over the last year, right, and my biggest fear right now, of course, is putting everything back on again, because someone that I know and absolutely adore makes some of the best not some of the best Chocolate chip cookies I've ever had.

Speaker 2:

And when she generously Don't forget the butterscotch sugar.

Speaker 1:

Please Do. We have to make a list. The oatmeal raisin, but the chocolate chip are my heart of hearts. And the chocolate bun cake oh, let's stop right now. Oh, butter, yeah, yeah, that one was incredible. But the chocolate chip cookies I thought I would get away with because I put them in my freezer, but it didn't matter, because I ate them frozen. And she gifted us with two dozen and I think I went through all of them within the first.

Speaker 2:

Well, the thing four days, this thing, I was watching everybody. I was watching everybody you know me sneaking, no, but I saw everybody at the table open their pants, men and women because they couldn't eat anymore and there really was an overabundance of food. That's why I wear elasticized clothing everywhere I go. That's the older folks' delight.

Speaker 1:

I know Stretch pants Well. Guess what I've been in them for? I can't tell you how many years. I will never buy a pair of pants with a front zipper or a pair of jeans for that matter.

Speaker 2:

Everything has to slide on and yet, with everything that we ate, the dessert came out and it was like a new beginning. I absolutely people ate and they didn't eat the fruit. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 1:

they went right right to the stuff, of course, right to the bag. Of course that's me. When I get a choice of fruit or cake, fruit's gonna lose every time.

Speaker 2:

Well, can't help myself the good part about everybody being together was we were able to stay out of the stores and not do a lot of christmas shopping or holiday shopping right, because the roads and the stores were incredible.

Speaker 1:

So better we should eat and drink Absolutely, instead of shop till we drop.

Speaker 2:

And be merry.

Speaker 1:

Yes, eat, drink and be merry. I'm all for that. And it was really starting with Thanksgiving, the absolute best.

Speaker 2:

And I think we have a lot to look forward to this year. It's a great year to be discussed at another podcast, and we'll leave you with this.

Speaker 1:

Remember age is mind over matter.

Speaker 2:

If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
