Hi everyone. This is Shelly G and Vicki Z, and we are Two Old Bats in the Belfry. Hello everyone, our fan base, which is so huge.
Speaker 2:Listen, you three people, yes listen, you three people.
Speaker 1:We have a very special announcement coming forward that even after the holidays, there is plenty of joy and happiness to be had, because my partner in crime here and mine as well, because we share, we share everything. We are expecting our first grandchild any day. Da, da, da, da, da, da, da. Yes, and it's a boy, and it's a boy, and we've already been doing major, major shopping. Oh, I feel completely out of the loop. I have never seen so many new innovative products for babies and I haven't even touched the tip of the iceberg.
Speaker 2:Oh my God, they're so cute. I already bought him little sneakers.
Speaker 1:I mean, he's not even here yet I know, although we have seen pictures.
Speaker 2:Yes, the technology now is remarkable. It is remarkable. He's already given us the finger.
Speaker 1:That's true, that's true, this is going to be one sharp-ass kid. Let me just say I am telling Well, he's got really cool.
Speaker 2:parents.
Speaker 1:Yes, he does.
Speaker 2:See, this little boy will be very lucky because he has an extra set of grandparents who already love him. Yes, we do, and it's very fun for my husband and I to be able to share this experience, besides with the kids, with our dear friends Vicki and Mr X, her husband.
Speaker 1:Mr X, that's Dr X to you. Well, that is true, aside from the other Dr Doctor. That is true.
Speaker 2:And actually yes, that's true, dr Dr X.
Speaker 1:Mine is Dr Dr X.
Speaker 2:Which is what he wants the baby to call him by the way we were trying to figure out what we wanted to be called Um. It doesn't matter to me as long as it's not Nana, because I am so far away from a Nana.
Speaker 1:I'm like the anti-main grandmother. I, you, you most definitely will be.
Speaker 2:There's not even a question, including the boa, no question about it.
Speaker 1:I called my grandmother Nana and I called my grandfather Bebop, because that's the way it came out the first time, and it was always Bebop, isn't that?
Speaker 2:funny. Well, I think the baby should call me Glamour oh I think that's perfect.
Speaker 1:I love that Glamour oh, without a question. Think that's perfect. What do you think about that? I love that Glamour oh, without a question, that's perfect.
Speaker 2:Well, it's very funny. Somebody said to me, and it's really true they said it doesn't matter what you want the baby to call you, because the first thing the baby says about you is what he will call you. So it doesn't matter what the?
Speaker 1:name is, whatever it is that he can pronounce, and I can see years down the road him telling his friends my two grandmas are Glamma and Zuzu.
Speaker 2:What planet.
Speaker 1:Are they on Well?
Speaker 2:I've been practicing on every little boy that I see, since I only had a little girl, that's what I was used to. So I've been practicing with every little boy. I see, I start to talk, I start to pay attention, it's wonderful.
Speaker 1:I start to talk, I start to pay attention.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's wonderful, I mean it's really fun, and I'm already deciding what I want this child to do and not to do, because I remember I was very active in my daughter's life when she was in school.
Speaker 1:I was too for the wrong reasons.
Speaker 2:Oh see, I didn't have that, but I remember kids going over to my daughter saying you know your mother's here again, because in her elementary school I was the unofficial school pianist.
Speaker 1:Oh, very nice, I did all the fundraising.
Speaker 2:I was on the PTA. They should have paid you a salary. One incident sticks out in my head there was one little boy that was a friend of my daughter's. This kid was the most magnificent looking kid, wonder what ever happened. Oh, he grew up and he had like four or five kids Really.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 2:Now he had parents that were a little wild too, but I was in the principal's office and this little boy was. His parents had to come in because he did something wrong. What a shock. And on the way out, the principal they were in the doorway, they were flanking this little boy. He was five years old, it was kindergarten, and the principal said Is there anything else that you would like to say? And the kid looks at him and he says Fuck you, fuck, you eat shit. Well, try not to laugh when you're watching this.
Speaker 1:How old was this kid? Five years old, oh, my dear God. Well, he must have heard it somewhere. He was a bright little boy, but of course he heard it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, without a doubt. I think that's so funny. That's a no-no for our little grand.
Speaker 1:No, he is going to be the antithesis of his grandfather. We're buying him a briefcase. We're going to get him a little mini tuxedo A little bow tie.
Speaker 2:And a bow tie absolutely so that he can be dressed perfectly every single day, like his grandpa. Well, contrary to what some people might think, it's very important for a child to be surrounded by a lot of love and affection Absolutely, and this child will definitely be.
Speaker 1:I'm already chewing him and salivating in my sleep.
Speaker 2:He will not lack for anything, this child, but knowing his parents, he will grow up to be an amazing and decent and lovely and kind and compassionate young man, and I hope to see that.
Speaker 2:Well, yes, I do too now that I'm on ancient city, I know, I know we're a little older as grandparents, but you know what? So what we're? We're young at heart, right, and we, we don't even believe how old we are. I'll crawl if I have to. Well, just think. Just think if, if we were breastfeeding, he'd be breastfeeding dust at the waist seriously, that could hurt you think I would?
Speaker 1:I would think, yes, absolutely.
Speaker 2:All of us are really looking forward to this lovely event and I'm thankful that we can be around for it Absolutely Very grateful. And by the time you hear this podcast, we would have written he will be here, he will he will.
Speaker 1:He will, so much excitement to come and we will certainly keep you posted. Yes, we will. And we'll leave you with this Remember age is mind over matter.
Speaker 2:If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
